GETTYSBURG
(pronounced Geh•tiss•burg)
Gettysburg is a treasure trove for three types of people: those who are history nerds, those who are photography nerds, and those who are both. It’s a town that’s really been frozen in time; people still live in Civil War-era houses, and the houses that aren’t lived in are history attractions where you can still see old cannonball holes in roofs and old riflemen nests in attics. Compare a Civil War photo and compare a modern-day photo of any given landmark in town, and you’ll see not much has really changed.
